New Semester Program

For the first time in the history of Students International in the Dominican Republic, we are partnering with Bethel College in Indiana and are offering a semester- long program for college students. This program includes language study, cultural studies, community development training, and ministry experience. Students in the program will be recieving a full semester's credit. (The semester students with their host families.)
On the 6th, twenty-two excited students arrived - students eager to learn about the culture and engage in ministry. During their first five weeks with us, they are studying Spanish. They are living with host families in the community which gives them the opportunity to immediately practice what they are learning in class. After six weeks, they will begin working at our ministry sites. (Lowell Troyer, our director, gives the students valuable cultural insights during orientation.)

Some of the students feel a call to missions and will be seeking confirmation and direction from the Lord during their fourteen-week missions experience. We are excited as we anticipate the amazing things that God will do in the lives of the students this semester.
