Last week, Students International in the Dominican Republic hosted its first "family outreach". Out of the fifty people who joined us for the outreach, twenty-two were children. Several grandparents came with their children and grandchildren. Fathers and sons poured concrete and painted a building, grandparents and grandchildren helped teach special needs children, mothers and daughters treated medical needs and assisted with art classes at our preschools.
The older generation modeled servanthood and kingdom values to the younger generation. What a powerful way to not only serve the peoples of the Dominican Republic, but to instill a passion for missions in young people! To the group from California and Connecticut, thanks for giving up your Thanksgiving to serve with us in the D.R.I
