"He (Paul) was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thesslonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia."
Paul had put together a diverse, cross-culture team to assist him in ministry.
We at Students International in the D.R. are a cross-cultural team as well, comprised of twenty-three members from the D.R, Colombia, and the States. Cross-cultural teams can be dynamic and effective as each culture contributes its particular strengths and insights. However, building such a team also takes effort. We've found that weekly team bible studies, worship, and prayer are essential in binding us together in spirit. Weekly planning and strategy meetings are necessary for uniting us in pupose. But in addition to this, we sometimes need to get together and connect outside of a ministry setting.
Several weeks ago, female members of our team decided to get together and have Maggie and Cheryl Troyer teach them how to make home-made French bread.
For several hours our kitchen and dining room were filled with the sounds and smells of bread making. All participated in measuring ingredients, mixing, shaping loaves, and baking. 
The forty-five minutes it took for the dough to rise, provided a great time for fellowship. 
At the end of the afternoon, each one had fresh bread to take home and enjoy. It was a great way to connect and to continue to strengthen the Students International team.
