Raul has been on staff with us for nearly two years. He had done a tremendous job of leading our sports ministry. He combines sports with discipling and mentoring of young guys, many who desperately need a godly male role model in their lives. 
Raul formerly had been in the Dominican Republic Armed Forces. He brings the discipline of the military into his walk with God. He prays fervently, confronts the forces of evil without fear, and is deeply committed to Jesus. 
Raul has been praying for a wife - a virtuous wife who loves God and who would complete him. In January his prayer was answered when he and a beautiful young woman, Mairyn, were married. At the wedding reception, Raul stated that he had fasted and prayed for years for to be blessed with a good wife and his prayers had been answered.
The wedding was simple (held on a private lawn, simple decorations), unique (included mime and dance), yet so meaningful. We left the wedding feeling like it was one of the most meaningful weddings we had ever attended.
