Our son, Ryan, and his girl friend, Chelsea, came to visit us in the D.R. for two weeks in August.
Ryan is interning as assistant pastor at Campus Church located on the Calvary Chapel Bible College campus in Murrieta, California. Chelsea is serving as a Resident Assistant at the same bible college.
We spent several days on a family ministry project at one of our Students International preschools. We painted the exterior of the school building and made some much needed repairs.
A little boy from the community wanted to help Chelsea paint. Of course he also loved being part of the team when we purchase ice cream bars from the ice cream vendor.
During lunch break, Nate shared scriptures about God's heart for the poor, and our responsibility as Christians to minister to them.
Ryan and Chelsea loved moving about the community "D.R. style" - on motorcycle. We were able to take an afternoon to cycle through the mountains and enjoy the beauty of the tropics.
One Saturday, Nate, Ryan, Chelsea, Andrea, and Chastity spent the the day "creeking". They hiked for six hours up a small river, sometimes jumping from rock to rock, sometime swimming, and finally reaching a beautiful waterfalls.
It's always such a treat when our children come home for a visit.
