God Go With You, Andrea

Several weeks ago, we moved our daughter, Andrea, back to the States to begin her studies in graphic art at Indiana Wesleyan University. Andrea had been with us in the D.R. for over six years and had dedicated herself to ministry with us at Students International and the local church. She had connected deeply with the people of the D.R. and had been shaped by her cross-cultural experience. Several weeks before her move, Andrea needed to sort through her belongings and decide what she needed to take with her. At the airport, on the morning of our flight out, she said her last goodbyes to her sister, Chastity, who would be staying in the D.R. Before taking taking Andrea to IWU, we traveled to Virginia to see our daughter, Lindsi, who is studying at Liberty University. We had a great four days with her and were able to meet her boy friend, Stephen, who is also a student at LU. Stephen is graduating with a business degree and entering seminary at Liberty. He is also an RA in charge of a hall of 70 young guys. He invited me to visit his hall and briefly share with his guys. We were happy that Lindsi was able to stay with us at our motel room several nights which made for some great family times.From Virginia we traveled to Indiana and got Andrea settled in at IWU.

We find that it isn't any easier to see our fourth one leave home than it was when our first one left. Life is full of transitions - death to how things used to be. But deaths that are necessary to birth new opportunities for growth - for life. We are so happy for Andrea and the things God has prepared for her. God go with you, Andrea.
