Melvin is a seventeen-year-old with cerebal palsy. Several years ago, he attended our school for handicapped children. Since then, our physical therapists have been making bi-weekly visits to Melvin's home.
During their visits they not only look after his physical needs, but have been teaching him to speak English. They also have been reading the Chronicles of Narnia to him. Even though he is able to read, he enjoys being read to.
Melvin has known Jesus as his Saviour for a number of years, and last Sunday he was baptized. It was special to see several other organizations there who have had a part in his spiritual formation.
