In August of last year, the director of S.I. Nicaragua moved into a new role as vice-president of operations for Students International and for the next seven months, Nate served as interim director. Maggie also became interim supervisor of the kitchen and kitchen/housekeeping staff at the ministry base. Even though at times we felt overwhelmed as we juggled our director-supervisor-pastoral responsibilities, we experienced an abundant supply of God’s grace.
It’s been two months now since, Seth Jurgensen, the new director for S.I. Nicaragua,
stepped into his office. Maggie is also in the process of training someone else to supervise the kitchen and housekeeping staff. Our goal is to pass the baton well.
We’re in a time of transition. Nate is continuing to give pastoral care to the staff in Nicaragua. He is also now beginning to dedicate more time and energy to overall pastoral care for Students International. This includes a yearly pastoral trip to Fiji, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. He will continue to develop bible studies to be used by the 1500 short-term outreach participants who serve with S.I. each year. He is also a member of the Students International Executive Team which gives oversight and makes leadership decisions for the organization. Maggie as always is Nate’s partner in ministry. She meets weekly with other staff ladies to intercede for lives and communities to be transformed by the power of God through the ministry of S.I.
We embrace this time of transition. Transition pushes us to new growth, provides opportunities for the development of young leaders, and creates in us a greater dependency on the Lord.
We are deeply grateful for the many ways you partner with us in ministry.
